Private Ports in Ports of India useful information

Private Ports

The ports are either under the management of the Central government or the State government. Private ports, however, are owned and operated by private firms. Unlike other infrastructure parameters, private ports look strong because they are regulated by state governments who are constantly trying to encourage investment. Weak competition and a healthy cash flow have also benefited the private ports. Private ports have succeeded in attracting a huge demand for crude import. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) operated Mundra Port, Essar Ports, Gujarat Pipav Ports (GPPL) owned by APM Terminals, and Marg Group operated Karikal Port Private Limited (KPPL) are some examples of private ports. There are several Private Ports. Which are as below :

1. Adani

2. Pipavav

3. Tuticorin

4. Cocanada
