Presently the paint industry is trying to bring the elements of colors and happiness in promoting demand for decorative paints. Recently the industry is awaiting manufacturing and infrastructure growth in the country to witness improvement in demand from automation segment. In the next 10 years, application of new manufacturing processes and automation will bring about quality revolution in the paints industry in the country.

Source said that West Bengal has a huge opportunity in paint sector. Lots of projects like new townships, several hospitals, schools, universities were coming up in the State, spurring the demand for paint both in domestic and industrial segments. 

According to recent report, Asian Paint has been exploring the possibility of setting up paint manufacturing plant of Rs. 2500 crore in South and for this, management has been in talks with some of the southern states of the country since last four to five years. The final capacity of the proposed paint plant will be dependent on the location and area of the land allotted to the company.

Moreover, the paint major is also planning a unit in Indonesia with 25,000 tonne per annum capacity. The investment coordinating Board of Republic of Indonesia had approved the investment application and issued a principal license for setting up manufacturing facility. 

Market predictors said that the Indian paint industry is escalating with a very fast velocity. In near term, many new projects are coming in line which will augment the demand outlook of the paint industry in both domestic and industrial segments. To earn the maximum margin, manufacturers and market players have to work hard and effective research for innovative products, will give the positive result and fine profitability to the industry.
