Laminate Industry Round Up (7/7/14 to 12/7/14)

Laminate industry is running with a deliberate velocity as it was last month. With increasing economic activity, spurt in leasing activities means a greater demand in the office and retail businesses is capturing the market of domestic industry players as in India plywood products are available at very competitive prices.

Some of the Laminate industry players are engross with some real estate projects to enhance the volume sales of industry and some industry players are planning to setting up new plywood units with joint collaboration.

Report said that Myanmar opportunity has attracted many Laminate industry players. Greenply industries announced the incorporation of its Joint venture with Alkelmal Singapore as private limited company for setting up a plywood unit in Myanmar.

Source said that previous month the finance minister has imposed provisional anti-dumping duty on all Phenol imports from the US and Chinese Taipei. As Phenol is basic organic chemical used in Laminate, plywood and particle boards will affect the prices of Laminate in India in near term.
Source said that market players are looking for the effective man power which will enhance the productivity of the industry and will generate maximum output.

Recent budget has announced the development of the infrastructure and construction sectors as they play a significant role in the economy, which will boost the demand for Laminate market in coming time.

Melamine, Phenol, formaldehyde and Methanol are the major chemicals used in plywood industry. As the demand for Laminate industry will heighten in the market it will encourage the good investment in chemical and petrochemicals sector.
