Decorative laminate and plywood demand in the month of August was bearish due to this prices also were lower. Previous month all the brands have missed to achieve their targets. Retail segments demand were weaker which has resulted in plunge in the demand.

As per the market analyst country’s economic condition is improving but plywood industry players are not getting good return due to oversupply in compare to demand. Plywood and laminate production has been doubled in previous 4 years.

As per the report, recently the wood panel producers of branded segment are waiting for the implementation of GST, as they find opportunity to grow by their market share after GST.

Some market players have said that recently oversupply of products is the main reason of poor condition of wood panel sector. To overcome with this, industry players have to expand with logic, with stable planning and long term objectives.
