Petrochemicals prices rise despite declining crude prices

Despite declining crude prices, the global petrochemical market rose for a second consecutive month.

Petrochemical prices rose by 4 per cent in July to $1,446 per metric tonne (mt). On a year-on-year basis, petrochemical prices increased by 10 per cent over July 2013. Production issues for certain products caused this price rise.
