Comparison between domestic price of Formaldehyde and Methanol

The above given chart shows the comparison between domestic price trend of Formaldehyde and Methanol from 13th Mar to 17th Mar, 2017. Previous week prices of Formaldehyde had followed firm inclination and at the end of the week prices were assessed at Rs. 17/Kg at Ahmedabad port. Prices of Methanol which is a feedstock of Formaldehyde had followed weak trend at Kandla and Mumbai ports and at the end of previous week prices of methanol were assessed at Rs. 32/Kg for Kandla and Rs 31.5/kg for Mumbai the port.
This week the domestic market of Formaldehyde had followed weak tendency and at the end of the week prices were assessed at Rs.16/Kg at Ahmedabad port, The prices of methanol had followed weak proclivity, on 13th march, 2017 Methanol prices were assessed at Rs 31.5/kg for Kandla and Rs 31.5/kg for Mumbai port and at the end of the week on 17th Mar, 2017 prices of methanol were evaluated at Rs 29/kg for Kandla and Rs 28.5/kg for Mumbai ports of India.
Previous week, CFR India methanol prices have remained firm, domestic prices have fluctuated. This week methanol prices have decreased. As per the news in near term market players are anticipating that on account of spring turnaround in Northwest China and increase in the downstream plant operating rate demand will improve and supply will plunge which will place positive impact on methanol market.
CFR India prices of Methanol were assessed in the range of USD 347/MTS. This week prices have decreased by USD 30/mt compares to last assessed price.
