Methanol plant to be restarted by Kaveh of Iran

Earlier in the second week of November Kaveh has shutdown its Methanol plant in Iran for around two weeks. Unit is likely to resume its production by next week. The reason for this shutdown has been specified as unstable production.

The company's November and December exports to China are expected to drop significantly as a result of the latest outage. Kaveh had expected to only ship 20,000t of methanol in November to China given unstable production rates, down from typical shipments of more than 100,000 t/month to China.

Other key methanol producers in Iran include Zagros, Fanavaran and Marjan.
