Anti-dumping duty imposed on PS imports by India

India has imposed anti-dumping duties on polystyrene (PS) imports from Iran, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, the UAE and the US. The duties apply to all types of PS, except for imports of expandable PS, according to the revenue department, which is part of India's finance ministry.

The duties will be applied for five years, starting from 17 November.

An investigation by the finance ministry found that PS was being exported to India by the countries in question below their usual value, resulting in dumping. This has in turn affected domestic companies and led to unfair competition.
