In the world after the US, Japan and China India is noted as the fourth largest producer of agrochemicals. As per the researched report, groundwater contagion is noted as one of the major concern facing the use of chemical fertilizers which contains the high level of nitrates that easily travels through the soil once Nitorgen fertilizers breaks down into nitrates and due to its water-soluble it can sustain in groundwater for decades and over a time period more of Nitrogen has an accumulative effect. However as per the researched report, when mixed with a single pesticide the effects of the chemical fertiliser are multifaceted.

Over past few decades, a large number of chemical substances have been introduced by the humans into the environment, where few waste comes from the industrial and agricultural processes. Moreover, some chemicals are evidently useful however most of the chemicals are toxic which are mostly found in fertilisers and can be immersed into the plant which in turn can enter the food chain that can be harmful to the human bodies. Few toxic heavy metals such as uranium, cadmium, mercury and lead have been found in fertilisers which can far and wide affect the human body, as per the research report.

According to the industry experts, people have been assured for more than seventy years that poor quality soil is no longer a concern, provided that if they rely on synthetic fertilizer products which are assumed to permeate nutrients into soil, enabling all plants to thrive. By means of classification synthetic fertilizers or Chemicals are mainly salts and as a result in a long run it projected to be hazardous to agriculture.

However as per the studies that has been carried out time to time differing to this have established that while diminishing other minerals and nutrients which are naturally found in fertile soil, synthetic fertilizers tend to restock only phosphorous, nitrogen and potassium. Moreover as revealed in the recent studies, with dwindle in soil fertility will also uphold in the midst of frequent use of chemical fertiliser and pesticides in the field.

One of the scores of nutrients Omega-3 oils which are quickly dilapidated in our foods and as a result lack of omega-3 leads to bad health such as cancers, heart disease and mental disorder such as attention deficit disorder and also disease such as Alzheimer. Furthermore, fruits and vegetables which are being picked prematurely is another major reason behind our nutritional deficiencies, for an example, nowadays non-organic tomatoes are being made to look red with the help of synthetic ethylene instead of sunlight.

As per the sources, the Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar through expressing its concern over weakening soil health in the country had said that his ministry would urge on banning the use of pesticides and insecticides as it harms the nature and propel for greater use of bio-fertilisers by farmers. Moreover, at the 4th National Conference on Agrochemicals 2014 the Fertiliser Minister had said that the government will propose new holistic fertiliser policy for the country, aiming to reach a sustainable growth in production of food and amalgamate overall best practices in fertiliser usage.
