About the product : Hexane is a significant component of gasoline. It is a colourless liquid and has a gasoline-like odour. It is highly flammable and insoluble in water. It reacts vigorously with some oxidizing materials. Hexane is commonly used as a solvent, paint thinner and chemical reaction medium. It evaporates very easily into the air.

Production Process Refining crude oil provides majority of n-hexane. The precise composition of the fraction depends largely on the source of the oil and the constraints of the refining. n-Hexane is extracted when the oil is boiling at 65–70 °C.
