Rubber Industry Round Up (17/08/15 to 22/08/15)

Rubber production of India tumbled to a 12-year low in 2014-15, when the prices of the commodity also illogically sunk in five year, making it one of the worst years for rubber producer in current time.

Rubber production during the year was around 655,000tonnes, down 15% compared to that in 2013-14, while use increased by about 4% to 10,18000tonnes, as per marker source. Rubber import in to the country at 414,606tonnes, an all time high, were up 15% in compared to that in the earlier year.

A huge majority of the world rubber production is consumed by the tire industry. One of the primary drivers for this market is the exponential increase in the number of vehicles produced throughout the world. Kerala is one of the largest rubber producing state in India.

As per the market predictors, due to the increase in demand rubber industry is growing tremendously, and in near term it is anticipated to grow with a positive rate velocity.
