Plywood and laminate industry is about to see new trend. GST is going to be very defining and hugely impactful on unorganized wood panel industry and trade. The major impact will be on the prices of branded products that will be cheaper by around 10%, while unorganized players have to bear increased cost.
As per the report, with the GST customers may opt better brand that has reliability, assurance and service. Some market players have said that the organized wood panel laminate sector which holds around 20 percent of the total market size post GST will grow with good velocity.
Some industry players have said that GST is going to help to mid segment brands also who are already paying excise and able to maintain good brand image with guarantee.
As per the market analyst, presently plywood laminate manufacturers need to look making quality of the product with good assurance and decent branding. If they will make sure these things in a short span of time they will grow as top brand in coming years.
