As per a report per capita consumption in India for paints is healthy but below the global average. Despite that, the overall demand for chemicals in India will continue to remain strong this fiscal. According to recent research report, specialty chemicals for paints and coatings are likely to grow strongly owing to expansion and improvement in the manufacturing activities of this sector by Indian players.

Market players said that bulk chemicals requirement are expected to slow in 2014 for this sector because of lower growth in end-user segments. Currently disposable surplus income is rising in India, and the increasing standard of living leads to growth in the Paint and coating market, which results in greater demand for chemical products.

Industry analysts said that Paint and Coating demand is likely to boost up with the increase of its usage in motor vehicle production and building construction activity at global level. Furniture coating is likely to boost up the sale of the coating sector in India as well as at the global level.
