With increasing competition, some medium players of plywood feel tough fight from big players. Mid segments players intend to stand with big ones but they are fail to achieve this as the major players have the advantage of rates, approvals and marketing efforts.

Source said that presently major players encompass good infrastructure set up, effective marketing strategies, huge supply; owing to this major players are successful to attain double digit growth whereas mid segment players are struggling and running with a sluggish demand scenario.

As per the report, Haryana government will recommend to central empowered committee to issue new 52 plywood units licenses to those peeling units, which is being set up before 2000.

Market players said that, India has huge opportunity in plywood segment. To compete with the major players, mid segment companies have to rebuild their infrastructure and they have to work on some effective marketing strategy which will be fruitful for the end users. All these efforts will enhance the growth of the mid segment. Apart from this they need to change their mind set and plan to take steps with big companies growth track.
