Weekly Price Trend: 11-03-2019 to 15-03-2019


  • The above given graph focuses on the Toluene price trend for current week.
  • This week prices remained soft-to stable firm and there has been decline in values. By the end of the week domestic prices were assessed at Rs.52/Kg for bulk quantity for Kandla and for Mumbai ports of India.

Booking Scenario

 

INDIA&INTERNATIONAL 

  • This week domestic market price was assessed at Rs.52/kg for Kandla and for Mumbai ports of India.
  • CFR India prices were evaluated at USD 650/MT, remained unchanged for this week.
  • CFR China price of toluene were assessed at the level of USD 675/MT, increased by USD 5/MT for this week. On other side FOB Korea prices were evaluated at USD 645/MT, with no change in compare to last week’s closing values.
  • CFR south East Asia price were evaluated at USD 695/MT.
  • Benzene FOB Korea prices remained soft-to-stable for this week. FOB Korea values were assessed around USD 605/MT. On other side CFR China prices for Benzene were assessed USD 608/MT for this week.
  • On Thursday, closing crude values have mixed. WTI on NYME closed at $58.61/bbl. Prices have increased by $0.35/bbl in compared to last closing prices. While Brent on Inter Continental Exchange decreased by $0.32/bbl in compare to last closing price and was assessed around $67.23/bbl. 

PLANT NEWS

Operations reduced by Reliance Industries at its Jamnagar based cracker

  • Reliance has curtailed its operations Jamnagar based cracker. The company lowered its cracker run-rates to around 80% of capacity from 100% previously, following an outage at a low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in the same complex. This condition will continue till March end. Unit is based at Jamangar at Gujarat and has the production capacity of Ethylene around 1mn tonnes/year.

OMPL awarded Para Xylene contract of 30,000 tonne for the month of April

  • India's ONGC Mangalore Petrochemical Ltd (OMPL) has awarded its sell tender for 30,000 tonnes of paraxylene (PX) for April loading. The tender has been done at a discount of around $30-33/tonnes on FOB Mangalore.
  • OMPL operates a 920,000 tonne/year PX unit in Mangalore.
