  • If we take a quick look at the above given weekly price trend it can be observed that this week domestic market prices of Phenol have decreased sharply and at the end of the week were assessed at the level of Rs. 105/Kg for bulk quantity.

Total import at various ports of India November, 2017

 

Above chart shows the total imported quantity of Phenol for the month of November 2017. Previous month total imported quantity was 19078MT. As per chart last month at Kandla port imports were higher while at Nhava Sheva port imported quantity was lesser.

INDIA & INTERNATIONAL

  • This week domestic phenol market prices were assessed around Rs.105/Kg for bulk quantity. Prices have decreased sharply.
  • CFR India prices for this week were assessed in the range of USD 1490-1510/MTS, prices have increased in compared to last assessed values.
  • This week Phenol prices have plunged in domestic market on bearish buying sentiment from end users on upcoming festive holiday.
  • After the festive holiday it is anticipated that demand for Phenol will remain slightly higher and export demand could be strong as well.
  • This week oil prices have followed mixed trend and closed on higher note. On Thursday, Oil prices higher, erasing earlier losses as Britain's Forties pipeline in the North Sea was expected to restart in early January after repairs over Christmas. Forties is the largest of the five North Sea crudes that underpin Brent, a benchmark for oil trading in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
  • On Thursday, closing crude values have increased. WTI on NYME closed at $58.36/bbl; prices have increased by $0.27/bbl in compared to last closing prices. While Brent on Inter Continental Exchange increased by $0.34/bbl in compared to last trading and was assessed around $64.90/bbl.
  • Feedstock benzene prices have decreased in Asian market this week.
  • FOB Korea and CFR China prices of Benzene were evaluated at USD 865/mt and USD 880/mt respectively.
