N-Butanol Weekly Report 10 Feb 2018

  • If we take a quick look at the above given weekly prices then it can be observed that the prices of N-Butanol have remained firm this week in compares to previous week and at the end of this week prices were assessed at the level of Rs. 72/Kg at Kandla port.

Total Imports from January to December 2017

Above graph represents the total imported quantity of N-Butanol from January to December. As per graph in 2017 Total imported quantity was around 64583MT. In the month of June higher quantity has been imported while in Apr, imports were lesser.

Booking Scenario

The prices of N-Butanol are also affected by duties that are there for different countries. For example, there is 7.5% duty on South Africa and the Europe Zone. And there is 2.5% duty on Malaysia. These prices are for full duty (7.5%) for US, Europe region.

INDIA & INTERNATIONAL

  • This week domestic prices of N-Butanol have remained firm and were assessed at Rs. 72/Kg for Kandla port.
  • This week international market prices have increased on sluggish material availability in market.
  • Thios week oil prices have followed weak trend while N-Butanol prices have escalated.
  • This week crude oil prices have followed weak trend. Oil prices fell sharply after the U.S. government reported crude stockpiles rose by 1.9 million barrels. The increasing U.S. oil production and crude stockpiles, and stock market sell-off, piled pressure on oil prices this week. A stronger dollar has also been a prevailing factor the decline. But the supply dynamics are working against a sustained price rally.
  • On Thursday, closing crude values have decreased. WTI on NYME closed at $61.15/bbl; prices have decreased by $0.64/bbl in compared to last closing prices. While Brent on Inter Continental Exchange decreased by $0.70/bbl in compared to last trading and was assessed around $64.81/bbl.
  • South East Asia prices of propylene were assessed at USD 1020/mt.
  • CFR China prices of propylene were evaluated at USD 1140/mt.
  • FOB Korea prices of propylene were evaluated at USD 1070/mt.
