Demand for PA has been very weak and obsolete in South East Asia since last one month. This in turn has compelled the major manufacturers to cut down their production rate. Prices in the last week were assessed in the range of USD 900-920/MT. Several plants in this particular region involving more than 250,000 tonnes/year of total production capacity, have started to cut operating rates, to about 60-70% of capacity, so as to align production better with demand conditions in the market.Experts believe that with US-China trade talks have restarted, improved regional and political scenario and stable new governments the business should be back to usual soon.
