Methanol plant to be restarted by PETRONAS in February 2020

PETRONAS, Malaysian company will soon restart its Methanol unit. Earlier the unit was shut down last weekend and now has been scheduled to go online in the month of February 2020. The unit will remain under maintenance for a period of 1.5 month. The shutdown was carried out due to technical some issues with reactor. The impact on supplies from the unit is unclear. But supplies in south-east Asia are likely to be limited if the producer is unable to cover its position.

Unit is based at Labuan in Malaysia and has the production capacity of 1.65 mt/year of Methanol.
