IPA supply tightens in South East Asia

South East Asia’s IPA prices has soared up in just week on back of tightened supply in the region. Earlier there was continuous weakening in the international prices for IPA. Now with limited supply prices are rebounding. Reports suggest that China is one of the major supplier for IPA. China has already made its sale commitments for the month of August. This could led to limited availability of cargoes.

On other side in China, most propylene-based IPA plants were forced to close, with the remaining few running at reduced rates due to production losses being incurred because of high feedstock cost. Domestic IPA prices in China have been rising because of limited supply despite a seasonal lull in demand, with end-users just buying on a need-to basis.
